The Rutherfordton Parks and Recreation Steering Committee is in the process of updating Rutherfordton's Parks and Recreation Plan on behalf of the Rutherfordton Town Council.

Your input is the most important part of this process.  Please take a few moments to tell us about the recreational activities you and your family enjoy and provide some feedback on our parks system.  You may click here to complete the survey online. You may also pickup a paper copy of the survey at the library.

We appreciate your response.  If you have any questions or need help regarding the survey, please contact Ben Farmer at (828)-351-2338.  If you have any questions about our park system or the parks and recreation master planning process, contact Doug Barrick at (828)-287-3520.

Don't forget that we now have a "remind" text service for our patrons. We will send out texts of any activities or events that will be happening at Norris Library. Also, this will be a great way to be informed of any days that we will be closed and any closings or delays due to inclement weather.

It is really simple to sign up and keep informed of what is happening at your library. All you have to do is text @norrisli to the number 81010. Normal text and data rates (according to your plan) are applicable.

Are you looking for a safe place to take your children trick or treating? The Town of Rutherfordton will be having the annual Trick or Treat on Main Street on Halloween Day. The town departments including the library and the merchants will begin handing out candy at 4:00 pm. Candy will be given out until 5:30 pm.

Robin Lattimore has published a new book entitled Rutherfordton North Carolina Photographic History. It is an excellent book and would make a great gift.
